Power and charm for the westernmost of the Grand Crus
At the foot of the “Bougros ” slope, the Serein river formed a narrow passage that was often flooded in the past. For this reason, the path leading from Chablis to the village of Maligny ascended via “la pierreuse” just before “Boquereau “, meaning “narrow passage at the water’s edge ” (bouque-eau).
Produced in limited quantities, it expresses power and fruity charm.

The Vineyard
This vineyard benefits from an excellent south and west-facing exposure along the Serein river on a limestone-rich slope. At the bottom of the hillside, the Kimmeridgian subsoil, with a 30 cm layer of clay, helps retain water in summer, which is crucial for the balance of the grapes. The vineyard was planted with a massal selection from the historic vines of the Estate. These vines yield a rich aromatic diversity.
