Chablis Grand Cru

Les Blanchots

The Queen of Grand Crus, renowned for its finesse

Domaine Laroche’s preferred Grand Cru, renowned for its finesse and charm. Domaine Laroche is a major owner, covering a third of the climat. Its sheltered and privileged exposure tempers the effect of the significant temperature increases observed in recent summers. The Domaine is firmly convinced that this climat will be one of the most sought-after and prized for its aromatic purity and crystalline notes in the decades to come.

Minerality and aromatic finesse

THE VINEYARD

Les Blanchots is said to derive its name from the abundant white clays found on this exceptionally steep hillside. In this soil, green and blue clays, outcropping Kimmeridgian, and ammonites, some approaching 70 cm in diameter, can be found. A delight for paleontology enthusiasts and for the vines, this ideal combination retains water deep down to nourish the roots. The southeast exposure and the presence of clay allow for slow maturation, without degradation of the aromas.
