Minerality and aromatic finesse
THE VINEYARD
Les Blanchots is said to derive its name from the abundant white clays found on this exceptionally steep hillside. In this soil, green and blue clays, outcropping Kimmeridgian, and ammonites, some approaching 70 cm in diameter, can be found. A delight for paleontology enthusiasts and for the vines, this ideal combination retains water deep down to nourish the roots. The southeast exposure and the presence of clay allow for slow maturation, without degradation of the aromas.
