A terroir delivering power and aromatic finesse
A Premier Cru located on a magnificent hillside, in the heart of an open valley where the sun is generous. A beautiful terroir for an excellent, distinguished Premier Cru. As early as 1537, this *climat* is mentioned under various spellings, notably “Montmoyen“. The name “Montmains” simply refers to the hill situated at an intermediate altitude, between two higher slopes.
Power and aromatic finesse
The Vineyard
The Montmains *climat* is located on the left bank of the Serein, on the slope opposite the Les Vaillons *climat*. The clay subsoil and favorable exposure make it an often early-ripening terroir, yielding wines with great power and structure, and a true texture.
