Crossed from south to north by the Serein river, the Chablis vineyard is structured around valleys and hillsides distributed between the right and left banks. The landscape is undulating, alternating between vineyards and forests.
It is on these favorable slopes and the famous Kimmeridgian limestone marls that the Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru, and Chablis Grand Cru climates were born, drawing their purity, finesse, and complexity from them. The more recent Portlandian subsoils, located on the plateaus and high hillsides, form the terroir of the Petit Chablis appellation.
